What the jobincludes:
- Lay outlines,reference points and dimensions on materials
- Take job sitemeasurements using tape measure, square, level and plumb bob
- Cut, slot ornotch work-pieces using snips, shears, nibblers, band saws or other similarhand or power tools
- Shapework-pieces to specific configurations removing buckles and dents
- Bend, bead,edge, swage or crimp work-pieces using hydraulic benders, press brakes, powerbrakes, bar folders, slip rolls and related equipment
- Join sheet metalor related materials using lock seams, rivets or screws, pin spots, or by spot,arc or oxyacetylene welding




- Prepare sketchesand diagrams; estimates material requirements for specific jobs; recommendsgauge of sheet metal
- Keep minorrecords and performs simple administrative tasks
- Meet all DOT,internal & customer quality requirements
- Assist intraining, directing & supervision of junior employees and apprentices,inspecting and certifying their work
- Work safely& efficiently with minimal supervision
- Estimate andplan work on time & on budget
- Repair, assembleand fabricate parts and components from drawings, Engineering Masters, processsheets & repair manuals
- Use all phrasesof manufacturing or repair, including but not limited to cutting, shearing,pin-routing, CNC routing, CNC programming, deburring, forming, pressing, handworking, heat treating, painting, plating, welding, spot-welding, tooling orjig manufacturing, painting (limited to as required basis for Repair &Overhaul; Division) repair or setup & testing
- Maintain a cleanwork area, & alert Supervisor of any safety concerns
- Dismantle,inspect, record discrepancies, recommend & record methods of repair
