About the Opportunity

IPH is looking for experienced Sheet Metal Workers to join our team in Kamloops and the surrounding area. We are seeking high-level apprentices and Red Seal Journeypersons who bring robust technical skills, take pride in quality workmanship, and are comfortable working both independently and as part of a larger project team.

This position will involve the fabrication, installation and modification of sheet metal and HVAC systems across a variety of commercial, institutional, multi-family and industrial projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects while continuing to develop their skills and build a well-rounded career with IPH.

What You Will Do

- Install and modify sheet metal and HVAC systems in accordance with project drawings, specifications and applicable codes.
- Install ductwork, fittings, dampers, grilles, diffusers and related HVAC components.
- Measure, cut, fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal components using a variety of tools and equipment.




- Read and interpret construction drawings, mechanical plans, specifications and related project documents.
- Lay out ductwork and components based on drawings and field conditions.
- Install hangers, supports and related components for ductwork and mechanical systems.
- Assist with testing, balancing and commissioning activities as required.
- Identify potential installation conflicts and communicate issues before they impact project progress.
- Coordinate with forepersons, project teams and other trades to support efficient project execution.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship while meeting project schedules and expectations.
- Provide guidance and support to junior apprentices when required.
- Follow IPH's safety policies, procedures and safe work practices at all times.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the role, skills and level of responsibility as required.

About You

- Registered Sheet Metal Worker Apprentice with significant trade experience or Red Seal Journeyperson Sheet Metal Worker.
- Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial sheet metal and HVAC installation practices.
- Experience with ductwork fabrication, assembly and installation.
- Able to confidently read and interpret mechanical drawings, plans and specifications.




- Comfortable laying out work and completing installations with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for assigned work.
- Strong understanding of construction site practices and coordination with other mechanical and building trades.
- Experience working on commercial, institutional, multi-family or industrial projects is considered an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Takes pride in producing accurate, clean and high-quality work.
- Demonstrates a growth mindset, actively seeks and applies constructive feedback, and is willing to adapt to evolving industry practices and technologies.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Physically capable of performing the requirements of the trade, including lifting and maneuvering materials, working from ladders and lifts, and working in active construction environments.

Pay: $28.00-$43.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
