RHEA continues to grow: we are looking for a Site Security Manager to support our work spanning Comox to Victoria.
In this role, the incumbent will provide on-site security leadership and technical advisory support for the construction of new, high-security facilities on Vancouver Island. Working with clients, contractors, security integrators, and multidisciplinary project teams, the incumbent will help ensure that security requirements are incorporated throughout design, construction, commissioning, and acceptance activities.
The position will initially be remote and will transition to regular site attendance, with travel between Comox and Victoria as project needs require.
We are looking for an experienced physical security skilled who can assess risks, coordinate stakeholders, oversee compliance, and support the successful delivery of security solutions in complex, higher-security environments.
Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include:
- Provide construction security advisory services for projects involving electronic security systems and related infrastructure.
- Draft and maintain site security plans, implementation plans, access control procedures, and security protection measures.
- Review security designs, drawings, specifications, and contractor submissions to identify risks, deficiencies, and implementation issues.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with security requirements, client standards, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, security integrators,
IT/OT teams, and other project stakeholders.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with outages, system cutovers, commissioning activities, design changes, and phased construction.
- Participate in project meetings, inspections, commissioning, testing, and acceptance activities.
- Track security-related risks, deficiencies, corrective actions, and project issues, and prepare related reports and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, health and safety requirements, and site security standards.
- Provide expertise in CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, alarm systems, security networks, and related technologies.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience The following education and credentials are mandatory:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field (or equivalent experience)
- Must hold an ASIS designation (CPP or PSP)
- 5+ years’ experience
- Must have experience working in physical security management or design, or security technology integration, for higher-security facilities (ex. Banking, healthcare, transport facilities including air, rail, or shipping, etc.)
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- Must qualify for a Government of Canada security clearance at the secret level
The following skills and experience would be desirable:
- Bilingual in English and French
- Any additional experience
Working Conditions
- Employment Status: This is a long-term contract, beginning with two years (with the prospect of renewal or extension)
- Location: The role will begin as a remote position, before requiring on-site attendance at one or the other location.
- Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 annually as a baseline, commensurate with experience.
