About Us For over 25 years, University Skating and Hockey School has been a trusted and beloved part of the London community, teaching children ages 3 to 15 how to skate and play hockey in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. We’re passionate about helping kids develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game, and we’re looking for coaches who share that passion.

Job Summary

We are seeking female and male enthusiastic and experienced Hockey and Skating Coaches to join our team for the upcoming fall season. The ideal candidate will have a robust foundation in hockey, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for working with kids. You’ll play a key role in helping young athletes grow both on and off the ice.

Programs We Offer

Coaches may be involved in any of the following programs, depending on experience and preference:

- Learn to Skate
- Learn to Hockey
- Power Skating
- Hockey Skills
- Shooting Practice

Job Hours & Operations Management

- Our school runs three sessions per year: Fall, Winter, and Spring
- Each session is 7 weeks long, totaling 21 weeks of coaching per year
- Programs operate out of Kinsmen Arena, Western Fair, and Stronach Arena
- Weekly coaching availability is flexible, you will be asked to submit your preferred hours each week to accommodate school or work schedules
- Dress code: Coaches are required to wear all black during program hours

Key Responsibilities





- Lead on-ice sessions that focus on skill development, technique, and teamwork
- Create and implement structured practice plans
- Provide clear, encouraging feedback to skaters and players
- Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Track student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Work collaboratively with other coaching staff to support player development

Qualifications

- Prior experience in hockey and/or skating instruction
- Solid understanding of the game’s rules, techniques, and strategies
- Comfortable teaching children ages 3–15 with various skill levels
- Positive attitude and strong leadership skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and motivate young athletes
- A passion for coaching and ongoing personal development

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
