The Social Media

Manager will lead the social media strategy and execution for BDO Canada's People & Digital Solutions (PDS) consumer business. This replacement role is responsible for elevating the PDS brand, amplifying thought leadership, increasing audience engagement, and supporting consumer awareness, consideration, engagement, and demand through strategic social media initiatives. Working closely with PDS Marketing, business leaders, subject matter experts, and external partners, the Social Media Manager will develop and execute content strategies that strengthen PDS's consumer presence across social platforms, with a primary focus on LinkedIn.

The successful candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on executor who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for storytelling, analytics, and digital engagement.

Social Media

Strategy & Planning Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with PDS consumer growth objectives and marketing priorities. Build and manage annual and quarterly social media plans that support thought leadership, campaigns, events, consumer services, offers, and growth initiatives.

Content

Development & Channel Management Manage the PDS social media editorial calendar, publishing schedule, and day-to-day channel activity. Create, curate, and optimize compelling content, including thought leadership, videos, articles, consumer stories, educational content, service promotions, event content, and campaign assets. Partner with subject matter experts, service leaders, and consumer marketing partners to translate complex topics into clear, relatable, and consumer-relevant social content.

Ensure brand consistency, messaging alignment, quality, and adherence to firm standards across all social activity. Develop platform-native, mobile-first content tailored to consumer needs across the customer journey, from awareness and education through consideration and conversion. Support PDS leaders in strengthening their social presence and thought leadership profiles.

Develop social activation plans for priority campaigns, research, webinars, events, and strategic initiatives. Create scalable employee advocacy programs, tools, and guidance that encourage employees to engage with and share PDS content.

Community

Management & Social Engagement Monitor social channels and actively manage audience engagement in a timely and professional manner. Monitor brand sentiment and emerging issues, escalating risks as appropriate. Analytics & Performance Optimization Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure the effectiveness of social media activity.

Analyze channel, content, campaign, and audience performance to identify insights and optimization opportunities. Provide clear reporting and actionable recommendations to marketing and PDS stakeholders.



Use data and social listening insights to continuously improve content, engagement, and channel strategies.

Track consumer-focused outcomes such as qualified traffic, inquiries, registrations, leads, and conversion signals in partnership with digital and analytics teams. Apply testing and learning to optimize creative, messaging, calls to action, audience segments, and consumer journeys. Partner closely with PDS Marketing, service leaders, subject matter experts, communications, digital, web, CRM, and client experience teams, and other internal stakeholders to support integrated initiatives.

Collaborate with external agencies, creative partners, platform representatives, and vendors as required. Support the social promotion of PDS events, webinars, publications, awards, consumer services, offers, acquisition campaigns, and growth priorities. Five or more years of progressive experience in social media marketing, digital marketing, communications, or content strategy.

Experience developing and executing B2C social media strategies;

experience in consumer services, financial services, wellness, education, retail, or other customer-focused environments is an asset. Demonstrated experience managing consumer-focused organic social programs; exposure to paid social, employee advocacy, and agency or vendor management is an asset. Deep understanding of LinkedIn and other relevant social platforms, including channel best practices, content formats, and emerging trends.

Excellent storytelling, copywriting, editing, and content development skills, with the ability to make complex topics accessible and engaging.

Experience with social media publishing, listening, analytics, and reporting tools. Strong analytical mindset and the ability to turn performance data into clear insights and practical recommendations. Excellent stakeholder management, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.

Strong project management, organization, judgment, and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-moving, collaborative environment. Growth in relevant audience reach and engagement across PDS social activity.
