HR Project Partners is recruiting a Drafter on behalf of our Client, Lir Maritime Consulting. The Drafter will support a defence‑sector client by reviewing, editing, and generating ship‑related technical drawings. This role requires strong proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to work with complex, multi‑discipline marine documentation. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering teams to ensure drawings meet technical, safety, and compliance standards.

This is a remote/work‑from‑home position open to candidates anywhere in Canada . The initial contract term is 3–4 months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs.

Essential Job Functions:

- Create, update, and refine ship‑related drawings using AutoCAD.
- Review and understand existing ship drawings, ensuring accuracy and alignment with engineering requirements.
- Produce and modify structural drawings, including hull components, framing, and reinforcements.
- Draft and update piping schematics, routing, and system layouts.
- Generate and revise electrical line diagrams for shipboard systems.
- Prepare detailed welded‑connection drawings in accordance with marine standards.
- Work closely with engineers and project leads to incorporate feedback and ensure technical accuracy.
- Maintain organized drawing files, version control, and documentation update





Education and Experience Requirements:

- AutoCAD expertise with extensive hands‑on experience.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and modify ship drawings across multiple disciplines.
- Experience producing:
- Structural drawings
- Piping diagrams
- Electrical line diagrams
- Welded connection details
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearances for defence‑related work (if applicable).
