EG Engineering (EGE Solutions) is an Ottawa-based structural engineering firm specializing in structural design, seismic engineering, and connection design for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
We are a hands-on team with extensive experience delivering practical, buildable, and cost-efficient solutions. Our work ranges from Part 9 residential buildings and low-rise multi-unit developments to complex steel structures, connection design, and seismic anchorage systems for institutional and commercial facilities.
Role Description
This is a full time, in-office role for a Structural Engineer (Intermediate) located in Ottawa, ON.
The Structural
Engineer will be responsible for performing complex structural analyses, preparing designs for building systems, drafting construction documents, and conducting project reviews to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. The role involves collaborating with design teams, architects, and contractors,
as well as ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
The interview process will include a short, in-person, test to validate competencies and compatibility.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Structural Engineering, including Structural Analysis and a strong understanding of general engineering principles
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, S-Frame, Misc. Steel and Steel Connection Design
- Experience performing precise calculations for building systems and structural integrity
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility in Ontario is an asset
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required (Master's degree is an asset)
- Strong English communication and teamwork skills (French is an asset)
