We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Surgical Dental Assistant to join our periodontal specialty practice. This is a full time Monday through Thursday, working alongside our Periodontist and clinical team to provide exceptional care.

The Opportunity The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with particular expertise in supporting periodontal and surgical procedures.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with experienced Periodontist, providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic environment.

The Surgical Dental Assistant will be instrumental in ensuring smooth clinical operations, maintaining high standards of safety and hygiene, and delivering outstanding patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the dentist during periodontal surgeries, implant placements, and other surgical procedures by preparing instruments, materials, and the treatment area.
- Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are sterilized, organized, and ready for use in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Provide preoperative and postoperative patient education, including instructions on oral hygiene and post-surgical care.
- Manage patient records accurately using dental practice management software such as Power practice, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Managing patient flow to optimize clinical efficiency.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental surgery to facilitate effective communication within the team.




- Collaborate with the dental team to create a welcoming environment for all patients alike, ensuring comfort and confidence throughout their visits.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a dental assistant with a focus on surgical procedures within a periodontal or oral surgery practice.
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Power Practice for record keeping and appointment management.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental surgery enhances communication within the team.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols, sterilization procedures, and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy clinical setting.
- Certification as a Dental Assistant is required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.
