Administration Position Status: Full-time If you are confident and have these qualities along with great organizational and communication skills then you may be a great fit for this position. The Lands and Resources Coordinator will report to the Office Administrator as the direct Supervisor who reports to the Enaagdenjged as Department Manager for the Administration Department. Reports to the Office Administrator; works independently for the overall management of Reserve Lands & Environment Management Program (RLEMP) for the M’Chigeeng First Nation; and maintains strict confidentiality of community lands records information.

All work performed will be in accordance to applicable MFN Codes, Lands Management Manual, Personnel Policy and other laws pertinent lands management. All work performed will be in accordance to applicable M’Chigeeng First Nation Codes, the Lands Management Manual Guidelines, Personnel Policy and any other laws pertinent lands management Will organize workflow and priorities by developing, implementing and monitoring required annual workplans Seek to confirm preliminary survey approved lot plans and issues approval letters on behalf of M’Chigeeng as requested Verify and search land registry records to determine accuracy of status of land entitlements Issue letters for band membership for confirmation of land transfers and tax exemptions Provides monthly activity reports to Council and the Registrar and quarterly newsletters to update community Prepares presentations and educates membership at community meetings as required Researches and prepares funding proposals for additional programming needs Ensure hard copies and electronic file records management database is maintained as necessary Ensure specific current and new MFN land claims and specific claims are properly filed and monitored Maintains Residency By-Law and provides information with respect to Matrimonial Real Property Federal Provisional Rules/Law Review and monitor sites in M’Chigeeng for environmental harm Keep abreast of water legislation and water governance Review and respond to Environmental Assessment documents and file accordingly Ensures Indigenous Traditional Knowledge is utilized and up to date Other duties that may include Mining, logging and water, and all other activities pertaining to Natural Resources ca website Establish and implement consultations for projects that may impact M’Chigeeng Lands & Traditional Territory Post-Secondary Diploma in Administration, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Indigenous Studies or related field of study along with 2-years related work experience. Post-Secondary Degree in Administration, Business Administration, Indigenous Studies or related field of study with 5 years direct work experience and 2-Year Certification of the Reserve Land & Environment Management Program (RLEMP), University of Saskatchewan.

Applicants must have record clear and/or dated of convictions relating to fraud, drugs, assault and theft.

Affairs & Northern Development Canada have a Reserve Land & Workplace Management Program (RLEMP) to assist First Nations communities to increased responsibility over their reserve land, resources and environment. It is designed to recognize the full scope of land and environmental activities on reserve, to improve resource management through training, and to implement effective monitoring, compliance and reporting mechanisms. It is mandatory training offered only at the University of Saskatchewan.

Students travel to Saskatoon only three (3) times a year. Classroom hours are comprised of lectures, labs and field trips. Upon completion of the two weeks in class experience, students are provided with take home final exams to work on while they are back in their home communities.
