Job Title Team Lead, Lab Operations Appointment Type Temporary with the possibility of extension Position Dates October 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027 Hours per week/FTE 35 About the Position The Lab Operations Team Lead plays a pivotal role in creating exceptional student learning experiences by leading the people, resources, and daily operations that enable high-quality, creative, and psychologically safe experiential learning experiences. Through operational leadership, collaborative partnerships, and a commitment to continuous improvement, the Team Lead creates the conditions that allow students, faculty, staff, and volunteers to engage in meaningful, hands-on, and evidence-informed learning experiences.
Reporting to the Experiential Learning Services Manager, the Lab Operations Team Lead provides day-to-day operational leadership for the lab environment within the Simulation Hub for the Centre of Health and Wellness, while performing the full scope of the Simulation Specialist role.

Lead works in close partnership with the High-Fidelity Operations Team Lead to coordinate staffing, operational priorities, shared resources, and continuous operational improvement across the Simulation Hub,
ensuring seamless delivery of simulation and experiential learning activities.
The Lab Operations Team
Lead develops staffing schedules for Simulation Specialists, mentors staff, and partners with academic programs to support evolving instructional needs. Through collaboration, psychological safety, innovation, and continuous improvement, the Lab Operations Team Lead in partnership with the High-Fidelity Operations Team Lead advances operational excellence and supports the quality, accreditation, and educational objectives of the Simulation Hub and the academic programs it serves.
Position Details
Responsibilities The Team Lead plans and coordinates the daily operations of simulation labs to support the instructional needs of multiple academic programs and will have key responsibilities in these areas:
- Operational Leadership and Lab Support
- Faculty and Program Support
- Mentorship and Psychological Safety
- Resource Management and Operations Readiness
- Collaboration and Operational Improvement
Required Qualifications
- Two-Year College Program or University Undergraduate Degree in a regulated health profession with a clinical practice background. Examples include Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Primary Care Paramedic, Advanced Care Paramedic, or another regulated healthcare profession.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered where the candidate demonstrates significant leadership or management experience and substantial healthcare experience relevant to the operational requirements of the position.
