? Compensation: $112,000–$140,000/year

Are you a technical operations leader who enjoys bringing structure, efficiency, and accountability to fast-growing technology teams?

emergiTEL is looking for a Technical Operations & Compliance Lead to join a growing ~20-person Travel Tech startup and lead the operational engine supporting its engineering organization.

This is a unique opportunity to work across technical operations, engineering capacity, financial oversight, people leadership, vendor management, and SOC 2 compliance — with the potential to grow into a designated CISO role based on experience and performance.

? What You’ll Do

- Own Jira architecture, workflows, dashboards, reporting, and capacity planning
- Track sprint progress, engineering velocity, and team performance
- Develop resource capacity models and provide data-driven insights to improve delivery and prevent burnout
- Support engineering teams working with JavaScript, React, Python, AWS, and DevOps
- Track development effort, project budgets, external resources, and costs
- Monitor and optimize AWS cloud spending and SaaS licensing
- Lead annual performance reviews and support career development
- Manage onboarding, offboarding, and technical team administration
- Own and maintain the SOC 2 compliance framework
- Oversee security controls, access management, documentation, and IAM processes across AWS and Bitbucket
- Work with auditors, technology vendors, and external partners
- Support ongoing security and compliance initiative

? What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in technical project delivery, technical operations,



or a related function
- Experience working in a startup, scale-up, or small agency setting
- Strong understanding of full-stack application deployment, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps
- Advanced Jira administration experience, including workflows, dashboards, reporting, and capacity planning
- Experience leading or managing engineering teams, including matrix environments
- Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and stakeholder management skills
- Hands-on exposure to SOC 2, security audits, IAM, or similar compliance frameworks
- A proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to own multiple functions in a rapid-paced environment
