We are looking for a pharmacist to cover a 14 month maternity leave in an independent pharmacy in Wetaskiwin. Your position would be temporary manager and Licensee. Tentative dates for the term are Feb 1, 2027- Mar 31, 2028.

Ideally, we would have overlap from Feb 1 - 5 with the new temporary pharmacist receiving training from the manager.

Hours of the shifts are:

- Tuesday: 9 am- 6 pm
- Wednesday: 9 am- 6 pm
- Thursday: 9 am- 6 pm
- ALTERNATING FRIDAYS: 9 am- 6 pm

We are closed Weekends and STAT holidays. We have a full-time Assisstant and a part time technician

As a Temporary Manager you would be in charge of the following:

- Making the schedule
- Arranging for relief when coverage is needed (there are a few reliefs we call on).
- Approving pay roll for the employees
- Placing orders via Imperial, Indivior (sublocade), Sigvaris (compression socks)
- Managing the workflow
- Epclusa & Maviret billing claims and ordering (can be taught to you)
- Sublocade Injections (we have a handful of patients on a regular schedule of Sublocade SC injections). If you are comfortable , we can teach you how to administer these injections. If you do not want to, that is okay as well.
- The assistant does the daily til cashout Monday-Friday
- Other duties as well not listed here

The ideal candidate would have the following traits:
- APA is ideal but not mandatory
- Injection certification and updated CPR training
- At least 1-2 years experience in retail pharmacy
- Experience with homeless community, mental health , addiction and daily witness practices
- We have 1-2 daily witness people at any given time (methadone and kadian). This can also be taught if you are not too familiar.




- Able to build trust and relationships with vulnerable patients
- Able to work closely with our connected clinic, nurses and physicians
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills

A bit about our pharmacy: We are a newer pharmacy (opened November 2021) that is focused on Mental Health and Addiction. We are owned by the physicians in the clinic neighboring us. Most of our patients are from the Maskwacis reserve, Hope mission shelter, and other community members of Wetaskiwin.

Our practice is mostly made up of approximately 70% addictions and mental health and 30% family medicine. The physicians that own Care Gateway are incredibly easy to work under, are understanding, and are focused on ensuring the best care for our patients. We are a slower paced pharmacy that is well organized, and has proper policies and protocols in place to ensure the best workflow possible.

Average script count: 70-140 Rx's Monday - Friday

Wage: $75 / hour

Pharmacy Software: Kroll paperless

Ideally you would be a contractor, however if you prefer to be added as staff instead, that can be negotiated. Unfortunately, we cannot offer mileage from Edmonton or other cities.
