Role Overview The System Simulation Engineer will focus on automotive thermal management systems, including A/C, engine cooling, battery cooling, and cabin thermal management, using primarily 1D simulation tools.

The successful candidate will independently execute 1D and coupled 1D–3D simulations, from data acquisition and model development through simulation, analysis, validation, and technical reporting. The role will work closely with system engineers to provide simulation-driven insights, numerical solutions, and recommendations for design improvements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute 1D system-level simulations for automotive thermal management systems.

- Perform coupled 1D–3D simulations and co-simulation activities.
- Analyze fluid flow, thermal performance, heat transfer, and system behavior.
- Collect and integrate data from multiple sources for simulation and analysis.
- Support development and validation of thermal management models.
- Work closely with system engineers to identify technical issues and recommend design improvements.
- Develop simulation methodologies and support technical problem solving.
- Generate technical reports and present simulation results to engineering teams and senior stakeholders.
- Support MiL and HiL simulation/validation activities.
- Support system bench, dynamometer, and vehicle test-cell activities.
- Apply optimization and Design of Experiments (DoE) techniques where applicable.

Required Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience with 1D simulation tools such as:
- GT-SUITE
- Amesim
- Flowmaster
- KULI
- AVL Cruise
- MATLAB/Simulink
- 2+ years of applied CFD experience using tools such as:

- Good understanding of automotive systems and component functionality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in automotive/vehicle/powertrain thermal management.
- Experience with automotive HVAC, engine cooling, battery thermal management, or thermal protection.
- Experience with 1D–3D co-simulation, such as GT-SUITE + TAITherm.
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink controls modeling.
- Experience with Model-in-the-Loop (MiL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL).
- Knowledge of classical and AI-based control algorithms.
- Familiarity with CAD tools.
- Experience with optimization and DoE.
- Experience developing simulation methodologies.
- Knowledge of co-simulation frameworks.
- Experience with system bench testing, dynamometer testing, and vehicle test cells.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for an engineer who can combine strong thermo-fluid fundamentals, 1D system simulation, CFD, and automotive thermal-management knowledge to solve complex engineering problems and translate simulation results into practical design recommendations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are important, including the ability to present technical findings to senior stakeholders.
