Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Traffic Control Person / Lane Tech and play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient traffic flow at construction sites and paving operations. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for directing vehicle and equipment movement, maintaining safety protocols, and supporting construction crews to keep projects on track. Your proactive approach will help create a secure environment while facilitating smooth operations across the job site.

Responsibilities

- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as cones, signs, flagging stations, and barriers to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely around construction zones
- Direct traffic flow using hand signals or radio communication to ensure safety for workers and the public
- Assist with lane closures, detours, and site access points to optimize project efficiency
- Support heavy equipment operators by providing clear guidance during paving or excavation activities
- Conduct routine inspections of traffic control setups to ensure compliance with safety standards and update signage as needed
- Communicate effectively with construction teams, drivers,



and supervisors to coordinate movements and address any safety concerns
- Maintain detailed logs of traffic patterns, incidents, and daily activities for project documentation

Requirements

- Prior experience in construction or traffic control is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidates
- Ability to operate basic traffic control equipment and perform manual tasks safely
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to traffic management and construction sites
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, or work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and ensure clear instructions are followed
- Basic knowledge of heavy equipment operation is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for site access purposes
