Training & Development Consultant position will report to the Manager, Headquarters Training and Development.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities for the Training & Development Consultants include:

- Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate comprehensive training, human resource planning, and leadership programs for the Government of Nunavut (GN) departments and public agencies.
- Facilitate and promote training initiatives offered by the Division within the GN.
- Provide information, technical knowledge, and expertise on human resource development to help the GN fulfill its obligations under Article 23 of the Nunavut Agreement (NA), Human Resource Strategy, and the GNs Master Inuit Employment Plan (IEP).
- Advise and guide department managers on attracting, retaining, developing, training, and motivating employees.
- Serve as an advisor to their manager and the Director, Public Service Training, and all departments on staff development and effective training practices.
- Manage financial resources allocated to assigned programs and services.
- Periodically supervise term and casual staff and undertake a mentor and/or trainer role.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

- A recognized undergraduate degree in a related field such as Education, Human Resources (preferably with training and development), Business Administration, or other relevant areas.
- Two (2)



years of training and development experience in a related position.

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land,Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural setting are also considered assets. Acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position.
