Job Overview The Truck Driver / Equipment Operator is responsible for safely transporting equipment, materials, and supplies to and from project sites throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and other locations as required. This position requires a dependable and safety-focused driver with long haul capability, a proven track record, and the ability to operate various pieces of equipment including skid steers, excavators, loaders, Nodwells, and snow cats.

The successful candidate will support field operations by ensuring equipment and materials are moved safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company, client, provincial, and federal transportation requirements. This outlines the intended requirements of the position and may include additional duties as required.

Responsibilities

- Operate and drive tractor-trailers, trucks, and other assigned commercial vehicles in a safe and professional manner
- Transport equipment, materials, tools, and supplies to and from project sites across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and other locations as required
- Support long haul, regional, and local hauling requirements based on project and operational needs
- Plan routes, manage travel time, and work with dispatch or operations to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials
- Complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and report any defects, maintenance concerns, or safety issues immediately to fleet
- Ensure cargo, equipment, and attachments are secured properly and transported in accordance with applicable load securement and transportation requirements
- Maintain accurate records including logbooks, trip reports, inspection reports, fuel records, bills of lading, and other required documentation
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, dispatch, clients, field crews, and other drivers
- Assist with loading, unloading, spotting, and staging equipment and materials as required
- Safely operate skid steers, excavators, loaders, Nodwells, snow cats, and other assigned equipment when required
- Load, unload, move, and stage equipment or materials in yards, laydown areas, and active project sites
- Operate equipment in off-road, remote, winter,



and utility construction environments while following secure work practices
- Perform basic daily checks, housekeeping, and minor maintenance support on assigned trucks and equipment
- Follow all company safety policies, client requirements, traffic laws, and provincial/federal transportation regulations
- Operate within hours-of-service requirements and maintain accurate driver records
- Report incidents, near misses, hazards, vehicle defects, and equipment concerns immediately
- Use proper load securement, tie-downs, permits, signage, and escort requirements where applicable
- Assist field crews with equipment moves, material deliveries, site setup, demobilization, and general support as required
- Work in remote areas, on uneven ground, and in changing weather conditions including winter conditions
- Maintain trucks, trailers, and equipment in a clean, organized, and professional condition
- Support yard organization, equipment staging, snow removal, and other operational tasks as assigned
- Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients, landowners, suppliers, and the public
- Work Cooperatively and respectfully with co-workers

Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of proven commercial truck driving experience, preferably including long haul, heavy haul, off-road, or construction-related hauling
- Valid Class 1 driver’s licence with air brake endorsement, recognized for work in Alberta and Saskatchewan
- Demonstrated protected driving record with a clean or acceptable commercial driver’s abstract
- Experience operating skid steers, excavators, loaders,



Nodwells, snow cats, and similar construction or utility equipment is required Education Requirements
- Completion of required commercial driver training and licensing requirements for the applicable province
- Current safety tickets such as First Aid, CSTS/CSO, Ground Disturbance, H2S, WHMIS, or other client-required training are considered an asset
- Ability and willingness to complete long haul, regional, remote, and local driving assignments
- Robust knowledge of load securement, pre-trip inspections, logbooks, hours of service, and transportation documentation
- Proven ability to operate skid steers, excavators, loaders, Nodwells, snow cats, and related equipment safely
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to identify vehicle or equipment concerns before they become larger issues
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Robust communication skills with supervisors, dispatch, field crews, clients, and other drivers
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules, weather conditions, road conditions, and project priorities
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and professional conduct
- Work is performed on highways, public roads, yards, remote work sites, construction sites, and utility project locations
- Must be willing and able to travel throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan, including long haul assignments and overnight stays where required
- May be required to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours, or on-call depending on project needs
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions, including winter conditions, and on uneven or remote terrain
- Physical requirements include climbing in and out of trucks and equipment, securing loads, lifting, carrying, and completing general field support tasks
