Help foster effective research environments as an Auxiliary Animal Care Technician at UBCO.

Your role will primarily involve the maintenance and care of various laboratory animals in a cooperative setting. This position demands a commitment to animal welfare and facility maintenance at UBCO's research-focused Biosciences Facility. You will perform health monitoring, manage daily care tasks, and assist with necessary procedures, all within a supportive team of faculty and staff while following prescribed protocols. Key Responsibilities:

- Provide daily husbandry, food, and water for animals
- Perform health assessments and maintain records
- Keep facilities clean and organized for optimal operation
- Assist with handling and anesthesia during procedures
- Conduct inventory management for lab supplies Requirements:
- Completed Secondary School education required
- Up to 6 months relevant experience or training
- Candidate certification as a Lab Animal Technician is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
