WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS:

TriPoint is seeking an Underwriter to join our Property & Casualty team. In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting and managing a profitable portfolio of business while building strong, long-term relationships with brokers across the Navacord network. You will play a key role in assessing risk, developing tailored solutions, and identifying opportunities to drive sustainable growth and profitability.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

•Underwrite and evaluate new and renewal P&C; business in accordance with underwriting guidelines, and designated authority levels, ensuring sound risk selection and underwriting discipline.

•Analyze risk exposures, loss history, pricing, profitability, and other relevant information to determine appropriate coverage, terms, conditions, limits, deductibles, and premiums.

•Exercise sound judgment and negotiation skills when making underwriting and business decisions, balancing risk, pricing, profitability, and Broker needs.

•Build and maintain strong professional relationships with Navacord East brokers, providing exceptional service and underwriting expertise while identifying opportunities to secure new business and support profitable growth.

•Contribute to marketing plans, product analyses, geographic strategies, and portfolio initiatives by leveraging market and broker insights to identify growth opportunities.

•Complete required underwriting activities, including endorsements, presentations, special projects, and other duties as required.





WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

•5-10+ years experience within the insurance industry in a commercial setting, specifically the MGA space is preferred.

•Proficiency with MS Office

•High attention to detail

•Knowledge and understanding of insurance industry terminology

•Self-starter with excellent communication (written & oral) and organizational skills.

•Excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills and team-oriented mindset

•Insurance designation preferred (CIP, CAIB, FCIP, CRM, R.I.B.O., etc.) or enrolled in a program working towards completion is an asset.
