Role Overview

Kli Capital is looking to hire a highly motivated Associate to join our investment team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain deep exposure to venture capital while helping identify, evaluate, and support high-potential startups across the world.

The ideal candidate is someone with startup experience (either as a former founder or an early employee at a startup), or an MBA graduate/soon-to-be graduate with experience in finance, management consulting, or a similar analytically rigorous financial setting. You should have a passion for technology and early-stage innovation, a founder-first mindset, and the financial and strategic toolkit to critically evaluate businesses.

Key Responsibilities

- Sourcing & Pipeline Management: Proactively identify investment opportunities through thematic research, founder networks, accelerators, and inbound deal flow.
- Due Diligence & Evaluation: Support diligence efforts including market research, competitive landscape analysis, business model evaluation, and customer references.
- Business Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of startup business models, unit economics, go-to-market strategies, and growth levers to assess viability and scalability.
- Back-Office Management:



Assist in the management of firm operations and back-office.
- Deal Execution: Assist in the preparation of investment memos and materials for internal discussion and IC meetings.
- Portfolio Support: Work with founders post-investment on strategic initiatives including fundraising, KPIs, growth strategy, and financial planning.
- Research & Thesis Development: Help develop proprietary investment theses across sectors and identify emerging trends and whitespace opportunities.

Qualifications

- Genuine passion for startups, venture capital, and emerging technologies
- Former startup experience or MBA are a big plus
- Strong analysis capabilities—able to quickly break down complex problems, assess risks, and synthesize actionable insights
- Fluency in Excel and comfort working with data
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to craft investment memos and articulate insights clearly
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and collaborative mindset
- Must be willing to be based in Montreal and available to work in-person at our office full-time
- Authorized to work in Canada
