About The Role
FairWind is seeking an experienced Level II Vestas Maintenance Technician to support wind turbine maintenance activities on a project in Québec, Canada.
The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and component replacement on Vestas wind turbines. This is a field-based position requiring the ability to travel to and work at the assigned project site in Québec.
Candidates do not need to currently reside in Québec. Candidates from anywhere in Canada who are qualified and able to travel to and work on the Québec project are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Fluency in both French and English is required.
- Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on Vestas wind turbines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control-system issues.
- Perform turbine inspections, repairs, component replacement, and general maintenance.
- Follow Vestas and FairWind technical procedures, work instructions, and safety standards.
- Complete maintenance activities safely, efficiently, and to established quality standards.
- Use mechanical and electrical tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized turbine service equipment.
- Identify equipment issues and communicate findings to site leadership and customers.
- Complete accurate service reports, maintenance documentation, checklists, and electronic records.
- Assist with major component replacement and other complex maintenance activities as required.
- Participate in toolbox talks, job hazard assessments, and safety meetings.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with company standards.
- Work collaboratively with technicians, site management, customers, and other project personnel.
- Provide guidance and support to less-experienced technicians when required.

Requirements
- Previous experience performing maintenance on Vestas wind turbines.
- Experience at a Level II Technician or equivalent level.
- Solid mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience with preventive and corrective turbine maintenance.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, schematics, drawings, and work instructions.
- Ability to safely work at heights and in physically demanding field environments.
- Fluent in French and English, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability and willingness to travel to and work on the Québec project.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vestas-specific technical training or certification.
- Experience with the specific Vestas turbine platforms used on the project.
- Strong electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, or controls experience.
- Previous wind industry experience in Canada.
- Working at Heights certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- WHMIS training.
- Experience with electronic maintenance management or service-reporting systems.

- Project Requirements
- Primary work location: Québec, Canada.
- Candidates may reside anywhere in Canada
- Project-based work may require extended periods away from home.
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, overtime, and extended shifts based on project requirements.
- Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors and at height in varying weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Climb wind turbine towers and work at significant heights.
- Work from ladders, platforms, and other elevated work areas.
- Enter and work in confined spaces.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull tools and equipment.
- Bend, kneel, crouch, stand, and work in physically demanding positions.
- Work outdoors in cold, heat, wind, rain, and changing weather conditions.
- Wear required PPE and fall-protection equipment for extended periods.
