About Us:

The Vaughan International Film Festival (VFF) is a not-for-profit arts organization based just outside of Toronto. Dedicated to celebrating and supporting short film, VFF offers public film screenings, student initiatives, creative industry panels, and more. We aim to inspire and support both emerging and experienced filmmakers locally and internationally.

The Volunteer Video Content Editors Role:

VFF is currently seeking Volunteer Video Content Editors to join our creative Marketing Team.

This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity for individuals looking to contribute their editing skills to an arts organization, gain hands-on experience, build their portfolio, and collaborate with a team of creatives.

Our Video Editors help bring VFF to life beyond the event itself — transforming footage from festival events, screenings, interviews and other initiatives into engaging content for our audiences, partners and internal use.

What You’ll Do

- Edit event footage into engaging highlight and recap videos
- Create short-form social media content, including Reels and other vertical video
- Edit promotional videos for upcoming VFF events and initiatives
- Assist with internal and event-related video projects
- Work with supplied footage, graphics, music and other creative assets
- Collaborate with the Marketing Team to develop creative concepts and storytelling approaches
- Follow VFF branding and maintain a consistent visual style across content
- Attend monthly in-person Marketing Team meetings

What We’re Looking For
- A passion for video editing,



filmmaking and visual storytelling
- Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or similar
- An understanding of pacing, music, transitions and storytelling through editing
- Familiarity with editing content for social media platforms
- A portfolio, demo reel or samples of previous work — school and personal projects are welcome
- Valuable communication, organization and time-management skills
- Ability to collaborate with a creative team and incorporate feedback
