We are currently looking to add a Welder/Fabricator to our team.

True North Automotive is an automotive and fleet repair facility who service many of the largest fleets in Alberta. We are passionate about providing our clients a "one-stop shop" experience. We are looking for another welder/fabricator to add to our team.

Job Summary

This position will support our fleet maintenance, repair, upfitting, and fabrication operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding, fabrication, modification, repair, and installation work on commercial vehicles, fleet equipment, service trucks, trailers, and custom projects.

Duties

- Perform welding and fabrication using MIG, TIG, stick, and other applicable welding processes.
- Fabricate components from steel, aluminum, and other materials.
- Read and interpret drawings, measurements, specifications, and work orders.
- Measure, cut, fit, tack, weld, grind, and finish fabricated components.
- Fabricate and repair brackets, mounts, guards, racks, platforms, steps, bumpers, toolboxes, and other custom components.
- Support the installation and modification of service bodies and commercial vehicle equipment.
- Assist with custom fleet upfitting and special vehicle builds.
- Use hand tools and other measuring instruments to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances.




- Maintain a clean and safe work setting by adhering to safety protocols related to welding, machining, and handling heavy equipment.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in welding (MIG and TIG) with a strong understanding of welding techniques and safety standards.
- Journeyman Welder certification is considered an asset.
- Experience working with commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, service trucks, or fleet equipment is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication equipment.
- Experience operating cranes or forklifts is preferred but not mandatory; relevant certifications are a plus.
- Ability to read drawings and accurately measure and fabricate components.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. This position offers an engaging opportunity for individuals passionate about metal fabrication and welding within a growing addition to our fleet maintenance company.
