About Us

We are a growing landscaping and snow removal company based in Calgary, Alberta, and we’re building something bigger than just a landscaping company.

We’re documenting the journey of building and running the business, from snowstorms and commercial property checks to landscaping projects, equipment, employees, customers, challenges, wins, and everything that happens behind the scenes.

We’re looking for a YouTube video editor who understands storytelling, personality, and social media to help turn our real day-to-day business into an entertaining weekly YouTube series.

This isn’t a traditional corporate video job.

We don’t want overly polished promotional videos.

We want real, entertaining, story-driven content that people actually want to watch.

The Role

Your primary responsibility will be taking our raw weekly footage and turning it into one engaging YouTube video every week, typically 15–25 minutes long.

You’ll receive footage from our landscaping and snow removal operations, including:

● Day-in-the-life footage

● Commercial property inspections

● Snowstorms and snow removal operations

● Landscaping projects

● Crew interactions

● Customer situations

● Equipment and vehicle problems

● Business decisions

● Behind-the-scenes moments

● Drone footage

● Owner talking-to-camera segments

● Funny, unexpected, and challenging moments

Your job is to find the story inside the footage.

What You’ll Do

● Edit approximately 1 YouTube video per week

● Create engaging openings/hooks that make people want to keep watching

● Build a story and narrative from raw footage

● Remove boring or repetitive sections

● Maintain good pacing throughout the video

● Incorporate B-roll, drone footage, music, sound effects, and graphics when appropriate

● Clean up dialogue and audio





● Perform basic color correction

● Create compelling thumbnails

● Suggest video titles and hooks

● Organize project files and footage

● Work with us to develop a consistent editing style

● Occasionally identify strong moments that can later be repurposed into short-form content

What We’re NOT Looking For

We’re not looking for someone who simply knows how to use Premiere Pro or Final Cut.

We want a storyteller.

You should understand

Hook → Story → Problem → Progress → Payoff The best editor for this position will be able to watch raw footage and think:

> “This is the interesting part. This is where the story starts. This is the problem. This is what the audience is going to want to see.”

We don’t want excessive transitions, cheesy effects, fake reactions, or videos that feel like advertisements. Authenticity matters.

● Want to help build something rather than simply complete assigned edits

or a related field—but your portfolio matters more than your education.

The people, challenges, decisions, and journey provide the story.

Equipment

You won’t be responsible for filming.

We already have professional filming equipment, including an iPhone setup and drone, and we’re adding dedicated equipment specifically for content creation.

Your job is to take the footage and turn it into something people want to watch.

Schedule & Compensation

This is a part-time contractor position, approximately 10–15 hours per week.

Compensation will be approximately $1,500–$2,000 per month, depending on experience, editing ability, and responsibilities.

We’re open to starting with a 30-day paid trial for the right candidate.

If the relationship works well, we’d like this to become an ongoing position as the channel grows.
