MOM’S & POP’S RESPITE CARE IS SEEKING A PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER / PATIENT CARE AIDE LOCATION: ETOBICOKE, ON Full Time: 30 - 40 /HRS/ WEEK Wage: $24.00/hour Vacancies : 1 RECENT IMMIGRANTS, INDIGENOUS PERSONS AND VISIBLE MINORITIES ARE WELCOMED TO APPLY Position Requirements: Minimum of 1 year experience as a Personal Support Worker / Patient Care Aide and/or College or other non-university Personal Support Worker ( PSW) certificate or diploma from a program of 6 months to 1 year or equivalent experience DUTIES: • Personal Support Worker / Patient Care Aide must: • Supply and empty bed pans; bathe, dress and groom patients; serve meal trays, feed or assist in feeding of patients and assist patients with menu selection; weigh, lift, turn, and position patients; supervise patients' exercise routines, set up and provide leisure activities for patients, accompany patients on outside recreational activities and perform other duties related to patient care and comfort • Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse; report or record fluid intake and output; observe or monitor patients' status and document patient care; collect specimens such as urine, feces or sputum; administer suppositories, and perform other procedures as directed by employer • Administer,



in emergency situations, first aid to patient within the scope of competencies • Maintain inventory of supplies • Provide care and companionship • Administering bedside and personal care including, bathing, personal hygiene, and dressing and undressing. • Planning and preparing meals and special diets, and assisting in feeding • Perform routine health-related duties such as changing non-sterile dressings, assisting in the administration of medications and collecting specimens under the general direction of home care agency supervisor or nurse • Perform routine housekeeping duties such as making beds, light housekeeping. • Transport patient to Doctor’s appointments and care facilities EXPERIENCE: Must have a Minimum of 1 year experience as a Personal Support Worker / Patient Care Aide and/or College or other non-university Personal Support Worker ( PSW) certificate or diploma from a program of 6 months to 1 year or equivalent experience.
