We are looking for a kind, capable and dependable female caregiver to provide private in-home support for Sandra, a woman living with MS in Crescent Heights. This is a long-term family position with an immediate start. The core caregiving need is approximately 20-30 hours per week, mainly mornings and evenings. For the right person, we are willing to guarantee additional hours or offer a full-time arrangement so that the caregiver can prioritize this role.

What the role involves

Morning assistance with getting out of bed, dressing, toileting, showering and getting ready for the day

Evening assistance with toileting, personal care and getting into bed

Safe mobility and transfer assistance; Sandra weighs ~120 lbs

Simple meal preparation, cooking, laundry, cleaning, and general housekeeping

Driving Sandra to various appointments, errands, church, events, etc

Assisting in hosting family and friends for meals and overnight stays

Occasionally babysitting grandchildren

Schedule Typically about one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening, plus additional daytime hours on some days. Because the role will involve multiple visits in a day, living near Crescent Heights would be beneficial, and a candidate having reliable transportation is a must.

The vacation allowance will be very generous as Sandra travels frequently - approximately 12 weeks per year - and care would generally not be required while they are away. There may be opportunities to accompany her on vacations from time to time.

Ideal Candidate

Warm, trustworthy, patient and comfortable providing intimate personal care

Reliable and adaptable - the schedule will likely be a bit different each week based on Sandra’s schedule and we need someone who can adapt to these changes

Physically capable of safely assisting with transfers in and out of bed and with toileting; client weighs ~120 lbs

Valid Driver’s License and comfortable driving a van (Sandra has a wheelchair accessible mid-sized van)

Experienced Health Care Aide, Personal Support Worker, Private Caregiver, or Nurse

Able to provide strong references

Female caregiver required due to the personal care provided

Compensation Up to $30/hour, depending on experience. We are open to structuring the position creatively for an exceptional person, including guaranteed weekly hours or a full-time arrangement even though the hands-on caregiving requirement may be lower.
