The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in power/transmission systems, knowledge of codes, standards and common industry practice for medium to high voltage transmission lines. The successful candidate will be expected to perform conceptual engineering design, analysis and calculations for proposed projects, review and seal any engineering deliverables for the energization of overhead and underground transmission projects. The senior engineer may also be responsible for overall project management of the engineering component of projects.ResponsibilitiesInterpret codes, standards and client requirements in the creation of optimized design criteria documentsOversee and produce accurate PLS-CADD / TOWER / POLE models that represent the project conditions and requirementsDevelop scopes of work, material specifications, and construction specifications to support overall execution of projectsProvide leadership, guidance, instruction and mentorship to less experienced staff membersLead capital projects development including feasibility studies,



project scope definitions, capital cost estimates, preliminary and detailed engineering designsManage and track cost and schedule of engineering deliverables, and report to senior management as requiredCoordinate and work closely with other discipline teams within PHASOR (Civil, Stations, Survey etc.)Prepare proposals for Transmission Line Projects including the development of cost and budget estimatesPerform site investigations and field reviews when requiredReview and seal final design printsParticipate in technical meetings with other disciplines, contractors or customersWork effectively both independently and as a member of a teamQualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical engineeringCurrently Licensed as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience (ideally majority in Canada)Knowledge of codes and relevant industry standards including CEC, CSA, IEEE, IEC, CIGRE, ANSI and NEMAExperience working on industrial and/or utilities projectsProficient in the PLS software suiteExperience in performing electrical studies such as EMF, corona losses, grounding design, lightning performance (asset)Experience in construction and/or construction support (asset)Excellent communication skillsValid Class 5 Driver's LicenseBenefitsDental careDisability insuranceEmployee assistance programExtended health careLife insuranceOn-site gymOn-site parkingPaid time offRRSP matchVision careWellness programSalary: $130,000 - $165,000 (annual earnings may vary by qualifications, relevant years of experience and market conditions).
