DescriptionWe're looking for a seasoned and forward thinking Piping Superintendent to help lead our growing Industrial division as we take on a series of major projects across Western Canada. In this pivotal role, you'll oversee the safe, efficient, and high quality execution of all piping activities while driving field excellence from planning through turnover.As a key site leader, you will champion safety and environmental stewardship, uphold rigorous quality standards, and execute field project plans that keep crews productive, aligned, and on schedule. You'll provide clear direction to field staff, subcontractors, and trades, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.You are a natural problem solver - someone who thrives on tackling complex challenges and bringing creative, actionable solutions to the field. Your expertise, leadership, and ability to anticipate what's needed next will be instrumental in delivering successful, high performance projects.Join the Ledcor team today!Essential ResponsibilitiesEnsures that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications and applicable building codes and that efficiency inlabourand materialsmaintainhigh quality standardsResponsible for the overall execution of piping construction, including installation, fabrication, testing, and turnover. Coordinates manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, schedule, quality, safety, and interfaces with engineering and other disciplinesEnsures that site safety measures meet or exceed the parameters set out by corporate safety manual, Workers' CompensationBoardor any other authoritiesReviews,maintainsand updates the construction schedule and ensures milestone and completion dates are metOverseesthe care and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment on the project to maximize use while on the job site,plans aheadfor equipment requirements in conjunction with other superintendents and the Construction Manager,
and updates equipment log asrequiredReviews subtrade/supplier invoices against thefieldpurchase orders and report any discrepancies to the Project Manager or the accounting departmentHiresand manages hourly employees asrequiredto complete the project in consultation with theConstruction/Project Managers andmaintains,approvesandsubmitshourlytime cardswith all necessary details for job costing purposesPrepares field change orders to be signed by project owner or representative whenrequestedWorks with coordinators/engineers to craft and submit RFI's asrequiredfor clarification of scopesDevelop and implement resource loaded 3weeklook ahead schedules that meet the overall Project scheduleQualifications3-8 years of construction supervision experience in industrial piping projectsJourneyperson (JM) Pipefitter/Steamfitter certification requiredProven experience leading large piping teams, including General Forepersons, Forepersons, and crews of 50+ pipefittersPrevious experience in a General Foreperson, Superintendent, or equivalent supervisory roleStrong knowledge of modern construction practices, industrial piping installation, and welding proceduresSolid understanding of piping and welding codes applicable to industrial construction projectsAbility to plan, manage, and execute work in accordance with project schedules, budgets, and construction documentsExperience with contract negotiation/management and construction cost controlDemonstrated commitment to safety, teamwork, and effective stakeholder managementStrong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills,
with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences and resolve complex project challengesWork ConditionsTravel with full time project location to bedeterminedin Western Canada Project specificSite based role, rotational shift will be assigned (if rotation and shifts are not known)Ability to work evenings, holidays, weekends, and travel away from home will berequiredAdditional InformationLedcor builds and maintains infrastructure in various industries including oil and gas, transportation, and mining.
