Could you help build the team and processes required to take a new operation to full 24/7 production?
Our client is a growing metals manufacturer that has recently invested in a brand-new aluminum billet casting facility with state-of-the-art equipment.
With production established and ambitious plans to scale from a single day shift to a 24/7 operation, they are looking for an experienced Casthouse Manager to support the next phase of growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining deep technical casthouse expertise with people leadership and commercial thinking. You'll be helping to build the team, finalise operating processes, improve production performance and create the foundations for a safe, predictable and highly productive operation.

You'll be responsible for
- Leading day-to-day casthouse operations from raw material preparation and melting through casting, finishing and shipment
- Building and developing the team required to support three-shift, 24/7 production
- Driving safe,
consistent production while improving throughput, yield, quality and equipment utilisation
- Finalising SOPs and ensuring disciplined, repeatable processes are followed across the operation
- Optimising furnace loading, alloying, metal treatment, filtration, casting and billet processing
- Working closely with Materials, Planning and Maintenance to align production with demand, availability and equipment reliability
- Supporting the business through ISO accreditation and driving continuous improvement
You'll need
- 10+ years' experience within aluminum casthouse, extrusion/casthouse or closely related metals manufacturing environments
- Strong technical knowledge of melting, alloying, furnace and billet casting operations
- Proven experience leading and developing production teams within a heavy industrial environment
- The ability to combine hands-on technical judgement with strong commercial and operational thinking
- Experience improving processes, production performance and operational discipline
- A safety-first mindset with strong problem-solving and continuous improvement capability
This is a site-based role in British Columbia, Canada. Relocation support and work visa sponsorship are available for the right candidate.
