Department: Perioperative ServicesInitial competition is now closed.We are continuing to accept applications until a candidate is selected.QUALIFICATIONSCertification/Experience/Knowledge:Graduate of a Community College in the Medical Office Administration Course or equivalent requiredMedical Terminology Certificate or equivalent requiredPatient registration experienceExperience of payroll data entryKeyboarding (45 wpm/95% accuracy) and Data Entry (6200 kph/95% accuracy) skills requiredHas worked with automated booking systems:Community wide schedulingPCS (Registration Management)SUR (Surgical scheduling module)Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelSkills/Abilities:Ability to transcribe Physician’s ordersWillingness to be trained to work in multiple rapid paced, changing environments and adapt to multiple health teams and work routinesStrong organizational skills requiredExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health teamDemonstrated ability to deal effectively with a variety of client groups to ensure patient-focussed care, delivery and positive customer relations requiredAbility to work with minimal supervision requiredMust be available for scheduled shifts and call-insExcellent communication skills,
both verbal and written requiredGood attendance and work record requiredMust demonstrate commitment to ensure their safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitorsMust support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organizationBilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required.
