Job Summary:

- As a member of a highly collaborative senior design team, the incumbent will leverage their product design and systems thinking expertise to play a critical role in redefining the future of the Avion Rewards digital experience.
- This role will mainly focus on our ‘everyday value’ experiences – partner offers, redemption merchandising, and integrations across Avion and platforms spanning both our web and mobile channels. The incumbent and will be comfortable within a collaborative interdisciplinary team and agile ways of working.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Be the consistent day-to-day product designer on a squad that includes a content designer and researcher who are shared across multiple squads.
- With support and leadership from their Design Manager, they communicate and manage the day-to-day design needs of the squad and will be a key partner to the Product Owner.
- Deliver the interaction and visual design deliverables of the team, from early-stage design thinking and concepting all the way to delivering final ready-for-dev design files
- Presentation of work-in-progress and final designs to product partners and cross-functional partners. Clearly explain design decisions (by referencing data, research, or design best practices) and receive feedback and collaborative input.
- Be accountable for including accessible design requirements and visual brand guidelines, and for ensuring that designs leverage our design system




- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including developers, BAs, and QA teams to support efficient delivery of a high quality digital experience
- Support a consistent experience across our user journeys, through collaboration with marketing and brand teams
- Participation in Agile ceremonies, as the representative of the squad

Future state of success :

- Product design skills, with a solid understanding of user interface patterns and user behaviours, and the visual design skills to bring the brand to life within the user experience
- Strong communication and presentation skills, able to facilitate ideation sessions, and comfortable speaking up as an expert within cross-functional

- Experienced in ‘design thinking’, and knows how to balance user-centered design imperatives with business requirements, marketing considerations, and resource constraints
- A self-starter with solid time management and project managements skills,



who is comfortable providing informal project management for the squad
- A strong systems thinker, who considers different functional areas of our business, our channels in and outside of Avion Rewards, and elements of our user’s journey that fall outside of our team’s accountabilities
- Brand and marketing design skills, with knowledge of how to integrate brand elements and leverage visual design to create an inspiring and engaging experience
- Experience implementing accessible design requirements, using and contributing to a Design System, using and understanding GA & user research data to inform design decisions.

Required Skills:

- At least 7 years of product design experience, or at least 10 years in a combination of Interaction Design and Visual design roles
- Professional communication and facilitation skills
- Experience designing within retail, ecommerce or loyalty.
- Experience with responsive web and native mobile app design
- Demonstrated expertise with design, prototyping, and collaboration tools such as Figma, Mural, and design systems
- Demonstrated ability to articulate design strategy, and the rationale and logic behind design decisions
