This is a full time, 12-18 month contract to cover a maternity leave.Key Responsibilities And TasksProviding students an educational experience designed to inspire and challenge students to discover the best of who they are and to achieve their full potentialEnsuring a welcoming classroom setting in a manner that reflects Lauremont School’s commitment to supporting students and their families, and the motto “I am Known”Supporting the growth and development of individual learners through the delivery of the Montessori philosophyParticipating actively in faculty and department meetings to plan, review and enhance the written curriculumEstablishing good relationships with teachers, staff and parents across the school communityBeing an active and positive participant in the community life of our school#1 – Responsibilities – ClassroomPlan,



organize and provide beneficial learning experiences within assigned areas of responsibilityFoster a supportive and collaborative classroom learning environmentEstablish and maintain an orderly and attractive classroom mindful of the principles of MontessoriMaintain appropriate student behaviour through effective classroom managementDetermine, plan and implement a variety of student assessment strategies to meet programme needs of studentsEvaluate and interpret student learning and development in a qualified mannerMaintain regular and accurate records of student progressCommunicate student progress to parents through parent teacher interviews and report cardsWrite up and submit to Academic Head, all parent interviews, following prescribed procedure and formatMaintain a record of lesson plans and CCEYA documentation (Toddler and Children’s House 1)Implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs) for students with learning differences, as well as medical plans.Follow all CCEYA and York Region Health protocols# 2 – Responsibilities – School CommunityDevelop and maintain a standard of professional behaviour, within and beyond the classroom, which exemplifies Montessori and International Baccalaureate principlesPromote and create a collegial and supportive environment with co-assistants and teachers from other grade levelsEstablish and maintain an orderly and attractive school environment in accordance with Montessori principlesParticipate in community activities, related but not limited to, student development, parent education and public relationsWork collaboratively with colleagues to evaluate the golden thread in our school curriculumDetermine and participate in professional development activities to support personal growth as well as the growth and development of the School.Note:
