We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Lead Access Control Technician to lead and execute large-scale multi-residential high-rise and mixed-use commercial projects. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring robust technical expertise in access control, CCTV, and network infrastructure, along with the ability to manage crews, materials, and multiple scopes from rough‑in through final commissioning.Role And ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Lead installation, programming, and commissioning of access control systems in high-rise and commercial environmentsManage field crews and coordinate daily site activities across multiple scopesExecute full project lifecycle: rough‑in, trim, programming, testing, and turnoverInstall, terminate, and certify structured cabling (copper and fiber)Perform fiber splicing (fusion and mechanical) and testing using Fluke equipmentInstall and troubleshoot network infrastructure including racks, patch panels, switches, and field devicesIntegrate automatic door operators with access control systemsWork with passive emergency communication E-Comm and DAS infrastructureTroubleshoot access control, network, door hardware, and low‑voltage systemsMaintain accurate documentation, labeling, and test recordsManage site manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to maintain productivityCoordinate with Project Managers, site superintendents, and other tradesIdentify and resolve field issues proactively to maintain project schedulesSkills And QualificationsSecurity TQ (Trade Qualification)



– Required10+ years experience in access control and low‑voltage systemsProven experience delivering large multi-residential high‑rise projectsStrong hands‑on experience with IP/analog/wireless access control and CCTV systemsExtensive experience with structured cabling systems (copper and fiber)Proven experience with:Fiber splicing (fusion and mechanical)Cable testing and certification (Fluke)Strong understanding of low‑voltage systems including circuits, relays, power supplies, and system communicationExperience integrating automatic door operators with access control systemsAbility to read and interpret drawings, risers, and specificationsStrong site management experience:Manpower planningEquipment coordinationMaterial and supply controlMaintaining field productivityStrong troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability across systems and networksExcellent communication and leadership skillsPreferred/AssetsFSR (Field Safety Representative) certificationExperience with passive E-Com and DAS systems in high‑rise environmentsExperience in mixed‑use and multi‑phase developmentsFiber splicing certificationNetwork CertificationSafety certifications (lift, fall protection,



etc.)Key Network Troubleshooting SkillsStrong understanding of IP addressing and subnettingAbility to identify and resolve network connectivity issues (device offline, IP conflicts, link failures)Experience troubleshooting PoE‑related issues for field devicesAbility to verify and test data paths from field device to head‑endUnderstanding of switch configurations and common misconfigurationsBasic knowledge of VLANs and how segmentation impacts system communicationAbility to isolate faults between cabling, hardware, and network configurationExperience using testing tools (Fluke, link testers, laptop diagnostics) to validate network performanceStrong logical troubleshooting approach across layered systems (power → cabling → network → device)Additional NotesOZZ Electric is an equal opportunity employer and encourages women, Aboriginal and Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities and members of visible minorities to apply.
