JOB POSTINGPosition Title:School Bus Driver(s)Position Description:The School Bus Driver, under the direction of the Education Manager, will primarily be responsible for transporting students of various ages to and from their homes and their respective schools in an effective and protected manner. This individual will be responsible for following established routes and ensuring the established schedule is followed so passengers arrive at their destination on-time. The School Bus Driver will maintain the health and safety of the students while transporting, loading and unloading the students, and ensure that all policies and procedures are followed while operating the vehicle.Permanent Part-Time- 5 hours per school day- 10 Month (seasonal) PositionMajor Responsibilities:Safely deliver students to and from their homes and schools, following the assigned time scheduleEnsure student's safety when boarding and exiting the bus and crossing the street while bus is stoppedAdhere to and enforce bus safety rules and standardsComply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous mannerResolve any conflicts in a positive, respectful and proactive mannerComplete vehicle inspections prior to departing for any tripComplete vehicle cleanliness inspections post trip,



removing any garbage. Place found items in lost and found bin or remove to designated locationAdhere to Fort William First Nation policies and procedures and all government regulations at all timesRead and interpret maps, where and when requiredReport any bus malfunctions or needed repairs to the Education DepartmentComplete all necessary paperwork as required, such as, trip and mileage logsOther duties as assignedQualifications/ Conditions of Employment:Must be able to work on short noticeCompletion of secondary school diploma is preferredA minimum of one year of safe driving experience is requiredCopy of Driver's Abstract requiredVulnerable Reference Check required prior to commencing employmentExcellent driving skills and habitsAbility to remain attentive when faced with distractionsFirst Aid requiredBus drivers require a Class "B" license in Ontario (copy to be provided with application)- FWFN is willing to train qualified applicants for class "B" license.Wage:$34.60/hour plus 4% vacation payJob Posting Closing Date:Posting open until positions filled.We appreciate all applications.
