Your role will include:Technical LeadershipLead the civil and structural engineering discipline for complex oil and gas facilities, pipelines, and related infrastructure projects across all project phasesServe as the subject matter expert for structural engineering, foundations, concrete, steel structures, and modularized systemsReview, approve, and oversee structural designs, calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical reportsEstablish and maintain discipline standards, engineering procedures, and best practicesEnsure compliance with applicable codes, standards,
and client requirements, including CSA, CISC, NBC, provincial regulations, and industry best practicesProvide technical leadership on proposals, FEED studies, detailed engineering projects, and strategic initiativesTeam Leadership & CollaborationWork closely with process, piping, civil/structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplinesLead, mentor, and develop civil and structural engineers, designers, and technical specialistsProvide technical oversight and quality assurance across multiple projects and engineering teamsFoster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvementCoordinate closely with process, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines to ensure integrated project deliverySupport resource planning, workforce development, and succession planning initiativesProject Execution & DeliveryOversee civil and structural engineering deliverables, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements across multiple projectsSupport project planning, execution strategies, bid evaluations, and client proposalsConduct design reviews, risk assessments, constructability reviews, and technical evaluationsEnsure high-quality deliverables are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirementsSupport clients and project teams in resolving complex technical challengesConstruction & Field SupportAssist with responses to RFIs and technical queries during construction and commissioningProvide senior engineering support during construction, commissioning, and startup activitiesParticipate in site assessments, inspections, and field reviews as requiredReview and resolve field issues, RFIs, and construction-related technical concernsEnsure designs remain practical, constructible, and aligned with project objectives and safety expectationsSafety, Quality & ComplianceChampion engineering quality, safety,
and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycleEnsure adherence to corporate quality management systems and engineering governance requirementsPromote safe design principles and compliance with environmental, regulatory, and client expectationsSupport technical audits, lessons learned reviews, and continuous improvement programsAbout YouYou are a highly experienced civil/structural engineering leader who thrives in multidisciplinary EPCM environments and enjoys mentoring teams while driving technical excellence. You bring:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (required)Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA (required)Minimum 15+ years of civil/structural engineering experience, including significant EPCM oil and gas project experienceDemonstrated experience leading large multidisciplinary facilities projects and engineering teamsProven ability to manage complex technical scopes, project demands, and stakeholder expectationsStrong leadership, communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skillsExceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilitiesTechnical FoundationAdvanced structural analysis and design of steel and reinforced concrete structuresFoundations, load calculations, equipment supports, and modularized facilitiesCivil and structural engineering design for oil and gas facilities and pipeline infrastructureExpert knowledge of applicable design codes, standards, and engineering practicesExperience supporting large-scale EPCM projects from concept through constructionFamiliarity with international engineering standards is considered an assetSoftware ProficiencyAdvanced knowledge of structural analysis software including RISA, STAAD, SAP2000, and S-FRAMEStrong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and engineering calculation toolsDyna6 experience considered an assetFamiliarity with 3D design and multidisciplinary model review platformsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Structural Engineering or a related disciplineExperience serving as a discipline lead, department lead, or principal engineer within an EPCM environmentExperience supporting large-scale facilities, pipeline, and SAGD developmentsPrevious involvement in engineering standards development and technical governance initiatives
