Position ScopeNACG is seeking an experienced Journeyperson Automotive Mechanic to join our dynamic organization.Salary: up to $62.70 per hour (includes base rate, Living Out Allowance, pension, training, vacation, general holiday pay, tool allowance and health and wellness perks, dental and disability). Boot Allowance: $225.00 per year.Site: Fort McMurray Town ShopSchedule: 14x14 (Day shift)Accommodations: Camp not providedOvertime: Provided after 8 hours in a day or 44 per week.Union: International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.Employee Referral Program: Eligible referral bonus of $2,500 for successful referral to Heavy Equipment Technician positions.ResponsibilitiesPreventative Maintenance and servicing of all light vehiclesCheck equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctionsTroubleshoot systems to determine faults and extent of repairOverhauls on vehicles as requiredTest repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer specificationsDevelop work scopes and schedules for vehicles to be repairedOrder parts for the servicing and rebuild of vehicles as requiredAssist Foreman in day‑to‑day operationsFill in when foreman is away if designated leadComplete reports and fill out work orders when requiredTeach and evaluate apprenticesFollow NACG's codes of practice and safety proceduresDemonstrate leadership skills in daily work interactionQualificationsMust be 18+ years of age and have a valid Class 5 licenceValid (Journeyperson) Automotive ticketExperience with the latest Ford & GM diagnostic systems is a great assetExperience in maintaining & repairing Ford, GM & Dodge 1/2‑ton to 1‑ton pickup trucks is a great assetExperience in maintaining & repairing Ford, GM & Dodge mechanic service trucks – F550s & 5500s would be considered an assetExperience & proficiency in using online service information & parts manuals (e.G., Fleet Ford, Ford Microcat, GM SI, All Data) is considered a great assetExperience in maintaining & diagnosing & repairing automotive diesel engines & emission systems is an assetExperience in troubleshooting & repairing automotive air conditioning systems is an assetValid CSO or BSO safety trainingMust provide own toolsStrong verbal and written communication skillsA creative approach to problem solving; adaptability and flexibilityConcern for safety and awareness of safe working proceduresAbility to work alone or as a member of a team with other tradespersonsPrevious mining experience preferred (self‑starter, requiring minimal supervision)Commitment to Equality and InclusionNorth American Construction Group is committed to providing a diverse and inclusive work environment where every employee feels safe, valued, and respected.#J-18808-Ljbffr
