TECHNICALSKILLSRelational databases: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQLCloud data services: Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Cloud SQL, SpannerMigration tools and strategiesHigh availability, DR, replication, and backup designPerformance tuning and optimizationInfrastructure as Code for data platformsData security, encryption, and access governance Roles & Responsibilities ..Own and define enterprise database migration and modernization strategies across application portfolios.Lead database transformation initiatives including re-host, re-platform, re-architect, and cloud-native redesign approaches.Design target-state cloud and hybrid database architectures.Assess legacy databases and dependencies (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).Lead modernization initiatives from traditional RDBMS to managed PaaS and cloud-native data services.Define reference architectures, migration patterns, and standards for databases.Design high availability, disaster recovery,



backup, and resilience strategies.Partner with application, DevOps, and security teams to embed database best practices.Drive performance optimization, scalability, and cost optimization (FinOps).Provide technical leadership and mentorship to database and cloud engineers.Engage senior stakeholders to align data architecture with business outcomes. DATABASE MODERNIZATION & CLOUD SERVICESArchitect cloud-managed database platforms (Azure SQL, SQL MI, Cosmos DB, Amazon RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, Cloud SQL, Spanner).Lead adoption of open-source and cloud-native data platforms.Design data modernization strategies including polyglot persistence.Support modernization of batch, transactional, and analytical workloads. SECURITY, GOVERNANCE & COMPLIANCEDefine security-by-design for data platforms (encryption, access control, masking).Implement data governance, classification, and compliance controls.Partner with security and GRC teams to meet regulatory requirements.Ensure data resilience, recovery, and audit readiness.
