Your OpportunityStantec is actively seeking a Transportation Engineer for our team located in Hamilton or London, Ontario office. This group provides consulting services for Class Environmental Assessment, Preliminary Design, and Detail Design projects for public sector clients, including the Ministry of Transportation Ontario and several Ontario Southwest/GTA municipalities.Your Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Transportation Engineer, you will be responsible for the leading and assisting municipal transportation design projects for clients across Ontario. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Directing roadway design staff, and managing multi‑discipline project teamsFinancial management of projects including budget forecasting, resource management, change‑order management, and client invoicingDeveloping proposals, budgets and schedules, and on‑going business development and liaison with clientsCollaborating with Transportation Leaders and other Project Managers to identify staffing, equipment, and training requirementsSupporting the Stantec Quality Management System, and promoting Stantec’s Environmental Health & Safety programEnsuring that the required functions of the project are satisfactorily performedDeveloping and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation,
and presentationsBuilding a strong culture of quality design and teamworkClients may be both internal and external to StantecOther duties as assigned/requiredYour Capabilities and CredentialsStrong leadership, negotiation, communication and customer relationship skills are essentialExperienced in AutoCAD, Microstation and OpenRoads or Civil 3D software will set you apart from your peer groupExperienced in report and proposal writingExperienced roadway designEducation and ExperienceUniversity or college degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in the field of road design and constructionProfessional Engineer (P.Eng. or LEL) is requiredMinimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience with project management or engineering design responsibilitiesTypical office setting working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
