The Academic Chair ensures that educational programming meets the needs of students, industry partners and adheres to certification and designation requirements. The Chair has familiarity with academic and administrative policies and the inter-relationships with college departments.With accountability for the planning, development, delivery, evaluation, and management of the department's activities, the incumbent ensures the effective use of resources with a focus on financial sustainability. The Chair ensures that objectives of the programs offered by the Department are attained through effective supervision of teaching and learning processes. The Chair facilitates the on-going review of existing programs and the development of new programs to reflect market changes, and the employment needs of industry.The incumbent conducts first-level investigation of complaints from students and staff and initiates the problem-solving process. The incumbent establishes positive relationships with industry and business representatives and participates in the College's student recruitment and job placement initiatives for graduates.
