Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints General knowledge of the construction industry and terminology Knowledge of building materials, engineered wood products, and building codes Ability to calculate tributary load, concentrated loads, and load transfer through a building Ability to resolve design problems and ability to be creative in finding solutions by communicating directly with sales, vendors, and customers Proficient with CAD software and capable of learning new proprietary CAD software applications Good keyboarding skills and computer skills; very comfortable with Excel, Word, Outlook High attention to detail and accuracy Able to communicate well graphically, orally, and in writing Able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines EXPERIENCE 3 years of experience with design work and blueprint knowledge; preferably with engineered wood products CAD experience is required Previous experience using Mitek Sapphire Structures or Supply would be preferred Estimating experience preferred EDUCATION Civil or Architectural Technologist training or a two-year college diploma in a construction-related program is required.

Benefits

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The typical hiring range for this position is $50,000 - $68,000 annually. The base pay offered is based on geographical location and may vary depending on the applicant's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.



Similar positions located in other geographical locations may not necessarily receive the same salary range. The compensation information is an estimate and provided to meet with applicable provincial Pay Transparency legislation.
