Director of People & CultureLocation: Whitehorse, YukonAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of People & Culture to lead and manage all aspects of our human resources function. This role is critical in supporting a workforce of 200+ employees across multiple project sites, ensuring alignment between people strategies and operational goals while fostering a strong, safety-focused, and collaborative culture.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development and implementation of People & Culture strategies aligned with company growth and operational needsPartner with executive leadership, operations, and site teams to support workforce planning and organizational structureLead full-cycle Human Resources functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and offboardingScreen resumes, conduct interviews, and support company-wide hiring decisionsOversee employee onboarding packages and annual updatesAdminister HRIS and collect employee documentation for payroll processingConduct performance discussions, disciplinary processes, and terminations in compliance with Yukon legislationIdentify and coordinate training and professional development opportunitiesOversee recruitment strategies and hiring processes for both field and office positionsDevelop and maintain workforce plans to support project timelines, crew rotations, and mobilization needsCollaborate with operations, logistics, and project teams to ensure effective onboarding and integration of employees across job sitesProvide leadership and guidance on employee relations, performance management,



and conflict resolutionFoster a positive, respectful, and safety-first workplace culture across all levels of the organizationDevelop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practicesEnsure compliance with all applicable employment legislation and regulationsOversee compensation, benefits, and total rewards programsSupport training, development, and succession planning initiativesLead and mentor the HR team, setting priorities and driving performanceMonitor HR metrics and provide reporting to support decision-making and continuous improvementQualifications & RequirementsMinimum 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in the private sectorExperience in construction, mining, or remote/industrial environments considered an assetStrong knowledge of Canadian employment legislationProven ability to support a large, distributed workforceStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systemsAbility to work both strategically and hands‑onWork Schedule & DetailsOccasional travel to job sites may be requiredAvailability to support operational needs, including occasional after‑hours situationsCompetitive compensation based on experienceOpportunities for growth within a dynamic and expanding companyA fast‑paced and collaborative work environmentThe chance to play a key role in shaping company culture and supporting large-scale Yukon projects#J-18808-Ljbffr
