HCOS Education Assistants are independent contractors who provide program support, behaviour and academic interventions, and encouragement to Home Learners within the Inclusive Education Department. Please see our Education Assistant Profile for more information.

The Position: We are seeking an Education Assistant to work with students in the family home for the 2026-27 school year. This is a part-time contract position that may grow in hours over the course of the school year, depending on student needs and EA skillsets.

10-20 hours per week, adaptable during school hours

As the Education Assistant your duties and responsibilities will include: Supporting the behavioural and academic needs of students, providing mentorship to the whole person Encouraging positive study habits and life skills Differentiating learning based on student ability and learning styles Collaborating with the Case Manager and the parent to support personalized learning opportunities Assisting in carrying out IEP goals, working alongside the broader student support team

We are looking for someone with the following qualities: Background working in Education, EA Support, Behaviour Intervention,



or with children/youth Professionals with non-EA specific credentials are encouraged to also apply (e.g., psychology, behaviour analysis, social work, coaching, mathematics, etc.) A valid Certified Educational Assistant certificate (or training in process) is considered an asset Demonstrate alignment with the following attitudes and attributes:

What we offer: Competitive Wage: $23.97 – $28.13 hourly depending on certification and experience Contractor model
