Through collaborating with the Facility Services team, the Maintenance lead is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and well-maintained facilities that are ready to meet the needs of all participants, employees, and the general public.You willEnsure facility maintenance standards are met and maintained in regard to the overall operations of YMCA owned and operated facilities throughout HRMEnsure the safe and continual operation of the pools, sauna, and steam rooms; including related equipment, chemicals and cleanliness as required by provincial guidelines and industry standardsMaterials management relating to cleaning, maintenance and pool suppliesMonitor and adjust all HVAC control systems as directed by the Maintenance ManagerPerform general cleaning (as needed), project cleaning, set up recreational sport equipment,



laundry service and snow removal in building entrances and service areasSupport a culture of continuous improvement and hold an outcome focused approach to facility maintenance and operationsYou Bring1-3 Years building maintenance experienceCertification in one or more of: Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Electrical/Plumbing, Mechanical HVAC, an assetStrong working knowledge and certification in WHMISProven background in support to a multi-program facility (i.E., fitness, aquatics, etc.) an assetMechanically minded (i.E. able to repair fitness equipment)Strong work ethic and flexibility to work irregular hoursDedication to safety and quality commitment, have proactive mindsetAble to work with minimum supervisionAble to handle multiple, competing tasksStrong interpersonal and communication skillsPlease note all successful candidates will be required to provide or obtain:Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, OR an Enhanced Policy Information CheckChild Abuse Registry CheckWHIMIS CertificationPlease note that background checks are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
