About The Role We’re looking for an
Associate Biostatistician
to join our growing consultancy. Reporting to the Director of Biostatistics or designate, the Assistant Biostatistician will contribute to the design, execution, and reporting of advanced quantitative analyses across a range of health research and consulting projects, including oncology, HIV, rare diseases, and other therapeutic areas.
This role involves conducting statistical analyses, developing reproducible code, supporting evidence synthesis, and contributing to manuscripts, statistical analysis plans, reports, and presentations. As a growing consultancy, RainCity Analytics values flexibility; responsibilities may extend to supporting systematic literature reviews, internal process development, and client-facing deliverables.
This position is full time and may be hybrid or remote, depending on candidate location and project needs.
What you’ll do: Statistical Analysis & Modeling
Conduct statistical analyses using R (e.g., regression, survival analysis, mixed models)
Support real-world evidence projects, including claims and registry data analysis
Perform evidence synthesis analyses (e.g., meta-analysis, network meta-analysis)
Support comparative effectiveness analyses, including propensity score methods and MAICs/STCs
Programming & Reproducible Research
Develop and maintain high-quality, well-documented R code
Perform independent quality control and validation of statistical analyses, datasets, tables, figures, and outputs.
Create automated workflows and scripts to support project efficiency
Research Contribution
Support systematic literature reviews, including screening and data extraction
Assist with manuscript drafting, editing, and journal submissions, and conference abstracts, posters, and presentations
Support development of statistical analysis plans, technical reports, and evidence packages for health technology assessment and payer decision-making
Operational & Project Support
Support smooth running of projects through clear communication and documentation
Translate statistical findings into clear, client-ready insights for technical and non-technical audiences
Other duties as assigned to support client and company success
What you bring:
Master’s degree or higher in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or related field
Proficiency in R programming and the use of GitHub
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Nice to have:
Experience in health research settings
Experience with SAS and/or WinBUGS/JAGS
Knowledge of Bayesian methods
Knowledge of network meta-analysis and other indirect treatment comparison methods
Experience with real-world data (e.g., claims, electronic health records, registries)
Experience with reference management software (e.g., EndNote, RefWorks)
