SummaryReporting to the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent will support active major heavy civil MTO projects. The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for actively managing multiple duties, taking part in both day‑to‑day operations and long‑term project planning.Primary Scope Of RoleAssist the Superintendent in managing work on‑site to ensure the compliance of construction with the drawings and specificationsSupport the Superintendent in planning and implementing schedules, determining manpower levels, material quantities, inspections, equipment, and requirements are maintainedMonitor work performance to ensure project rules, procedures, and safety requirements are being followedAdvise the Superintendent and Project Manager(s) of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties and assist in resolving these problemsMaintain and analyze up‑to‑date cost reports and submit necessary changes to ensure the project is delivered within budgetMeet with Owners, Consultants, and Architects in a professional manner and have the ability to communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the companyMonitor project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, equipment maintenance, safety and quality controlInterface with project team, subcontractors and related third partiesMonitor and inspect project site to maintain a protected work environment and provide leadership to ensure policies,
procedures and standards are followedPosition Requirements4+ years of progressive experience delivering construction projects in Ontario.Proven experience on MTO and municipal projects.An EIT or CET designation is preferred.Demonstrated success leading high‑volume, self‑performed operations.Strong safety leadership and practical financial acumen.Comfortable working in a non‑union environment alongside unionized trades.Clear communicator with the ability to earn trust from crews, clients, and inspectors.AFP / P3 or Design‑Build experience is an asset.What We OfferExpected Base Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year.
