Responsibilities Business Development

Build client relationships through identifying market opportunities, client communications, preparation of proposals, and business development activities.

Identify and pursue business opportunities within the marketplace where Dillon can secure work assignments.

Contribute to proposals through budget development and proposal writing.

Collaborate with staff across Canada for project delivery, client relationship development, and opportunity/project research.

Technical Practice, Project Management & Design

Lead the scoping, development, and execution of environmental permitting and project approval programs, including research, field work, and technical report writing.

Support the development of environmental assessments registration documents, compensation/offsetting plans, and related environmental permitting assignments at provincial and federal levels.

Scope, plan, develop, and implement assessment programs for a variety of projects across the public and private sectors.

Coordinate project team activities, provide direction to team members, and contribute to staff development.

Learning & Development

Continue developing technical skills and business acumen.





Contribute to career development of less tenured staff through technical direction, training recommendations, coaching, and mentoring.

Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations.

Qualifications

University degree or post‑undergraduate college diploma in a relevant environmental, physical science, or engineering discipline.

Minimum of 8 years of qualified experience in environmental consulting, industrial or regulatory settings, with a specific emphasis on environmental permitting.

Valid driver’s licence (Class 5).

Excellent communication and report writing skills.

Proficiency in English; working knowledge of French is an asset.

Experience

In‑depth knowledge of relevant provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines, and permitting requirements.

Experience in preparing regulatory applications and submissions.

General working knowledge of various environmental and social science disciplines with a focus on identifying potential environmental effects and mitigation for proposed developments.

Expertise in a technical discipline such as terrestrial ecology, wildlife biology, aquatic biology, or air quality is an asset.

Experience in public, stakeholder, and Indigenous engagement and consultation is considered an asset.

Excellent project management and client relationship skills.

Advanced critical thinking, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to project quality and ability to meet deadlines.
