Controller - US Operations, Mining/Mineral ProcessingToronto, ONHybrid (2-3x in office) with travel to the USBlue Moon Metals is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller for its US operations. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in mining or mill operations, and a proven track record in financial reporting, ERP systems, and compliance with NASDAQ standards. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller will oversee all financial activities, ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, and support strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, enjoys being close to operations and supporting site leadership, has a deep understanding of IFRS, and the ability to drive operational efficiency in a dynamic environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the full cycle of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll for US entitiesPrepare and review monthly, quarterly site reporting packages for the group consolidation in accordance with IFRS and NASDAQ requirementsLead finance support for US assets acquisitions, with initial focus on the Springer Mine and Processing FacilityWork with the Corporate Finance team to evaluate and implement new accounting policies as the US assets transition through the mine life cycle (exploration, development, construction, operations)Implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial recordsCoordinate and lead the US component annual audit process in collaboration with the Corporate Finance team and external auditors to ensure timely completion of all audit requirementsSupport the Corporate FP&A; Manager in budget preparation, financial forecasting,
and variance analysisEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and corporation tax regulations; prepare and file applicable tax returnsOversee cash management, banking relationships, and treasury functionsProvide financial guidance and support to operational teams to enhance profitability and cost controlSupport the implementation and optimization of ERP systemsIdentify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial operationsHelp to build and mentor the finance team, fostering professional development and a collaborative work environmentPrepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as requestedQualificationsActive CPA in good standing and eligible to work in the United StatesBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related fieldMinimum of 7 years' progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial roleStrong knowledge of IFRS (US GAAP is an asset), tax regulations, and financial reporting requirementsProficiency with accounting software (e.G., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skillsExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilitiesEffective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholdersExperience in the metals, manufacturing, or industrial sectors is an assetAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting, with willingness to travel to site as requiredPay Range And Compensation PackageCompensation and benefits details will be discussed during the interview process.Equal Opportunity StatementWe are committed to diversity and inclusivity in our hiring practices and encourage applications from all qualified individuals.
