Survey Manager – Heavy Civil Infrastructure
Greater Vancouver, British Columbia
Skyline Recruitment is partnering with a leading Canadian civil construction contractor to hire an experienced Survey Manager.
Our client is an established contractor delivering large and technically complex civil infrastructure projects across Canada. This is a senior position responsible for leading and coordinating survey operations on a major civil construction project in the Greater Vancouver area.
The successful candidate will bring extensive construction surveying experience, solid technical capability, and experience leading survey teams on complex heavy civil and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate survey activities across a major civil infrastructure project
- Manage survey personnel, equipment, resources, and day-to-day priorities
- Establish and maintain accurate survey control networks
- Oversee construction layout, monitoring, topographical surveys, and as-built documentation
- Develop and maintain survey methodologies, procedures, and quality standards
- Manage survey data, calculations, records, and digital deliverables
- Utilize modern surveying technology including GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, and 3D laser scanning
- Coordinate closely with construction, engineering, and project management teams
- Ensure survey activities meet project specifications, quality requirements, and safety standards
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to survey team members
- Support project planning, scheduling,
and coordination as required
Requirements:
- 7+ years of surveying experience within construction or major infrastructure
- Strong heavy civil construction surveying background
- Experience working on large and technically complex infrastructure projects
- Previous experience leading or supervising survey teams
- Strong knowledge of construction layout, control networks, monitoring, and as-built surveys
- Experience with GPS/GNSS, total stations, 3D scanning, and modern survey equipment
- Proficiency with Civil 3D and relevant survey/data processing software
- Strong understanding of survey QA/QC and construction documentation
- Diploma or degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
- Professional surveying designation or eligibility considered an asset
