Together, we'll push boundaries and go above what's expected of us to meet the challenges of tomorrow and engineer a better world!CIMA+ is looking for a Senior Consultant – Operational Systems & Digital Solutions to join and help grow our Operational and Digital Technologies practice in the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario.We are specifically looking for a senior skilled with experience in technology systems and digital solutions that directly support physical operations, infrastructure and operational assets. Our immediate focus is the transit market, and meaningful experience with technologies supporting transit operations will be a strong consideration in candidate selection. Relevant experience from other operationally intensive and asset-based sectors, including defence, airports, energy, utilities and critical infrastructure, will be strongly considered.The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of operational applications and their underlying technology environment, including systems integration, software, APIs and middleware, data platforms, cloud and on-premises infrastructure, networks and cybersecurity. We are not looking for a specialist in every technology layer, but rather for someone with sufficient technical depth and breadth to understand how these components come together to deliver reliable, integrated, end-to-end operational solutions.This is not a corporate IT, managed services, system administration or software product development role. We are particularly interested in candidates whose technology experience has been acquired in environments where digital systems are closely connected to day-to-day operations, physical assets, field activities or mission-critical services.Beyond technical expertise, we are looking for an entrepreneurial,
autonomous and results-oriented professional who wants to play an active role in developing CIMA+'s presence in Ontario. The successful candidate will be expected to build trusted client relationships, identify and shape opportunities, lead assignments, mobilize expertise from across CIMA+, and progressively contribute to the growth of our local team and business.Primary ResponsibilitiesClient Advisory and Local RepresentationAct as a senior technology advisor and local representative of CIMA+'s Operational and Digital Technology practice with clients in the GTA and OntarioDevelop trusted relationships with client stakeholders, including business, operational, engineering, and technology teamsPresent technical issues, alternatives, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersMaintain effective communication between clients, CIMA+ project teams, technical specialists, and other project participantsSystems and Technology AdvisoryAdvise clients on the planning, modernization, integration, and implementation of complex information and operational technology systemsAssess existing technology environments, systems, architectures, and processes to identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvementDevelop technology strategies, roadmaps, requirements, solution concepts, options analyses, and implementation approachesContribute to assignments involving enterprise and operational systems, custom software, systems integration, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, analytics, automation, and emerging technologiesEvaluate technology alternatives considering operational requirements, interoperability, cybersecurity, scalability, lifecycle, cost, and implementation risksSupport system architecture, technology selection, procurement, implementation, integration, and modernization initiativesTechnology Integration, Software and DataSupport the definition of system and application integration strategies across operational systems, enterprise applications, cloud environments, SaaS platforms, and third-party solutionsWork with other technical specialists to define appropriate architectures, interfaces, APIs, middleware, and data exchange approachesContribute to assignments involving automation, AI, IoT, and other emerging digital capabilities where appropriatePractice and Business DevelopmentContribute to establishing and growing CIMA+'s Operational and Digital Technology presence in OntarioBuild and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clientsParticipate in proposals, qualifications, presentations, and client interviewsConnect opportunities in Ontario with expertise available across CIMA+ and help assemble multidisciplinary teams to pursue and deliver themTransit and Industry ExperienceTransit industry experience is strongly preferred and will be an important consideration in candidate selection.
Relevant transit experience may include expertise with systems such as:CAD/AVL and fleet management systemsFare collection and fare integrationAutomatic Passenger Counting (APC)GTFS and GTFS-RealtimeTransit data and analytics platformsOperational Technology and control systemsIntegration between operational and enterprise systemsUniversity degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related disciplineApproximately 10 or more years of relevant professional experience in technology consulting, systems engineering, information technology, software, infrastructure, cloud, data, systems integration, Operational Technology, or related fieldsExperience with complex, operational, or mission-critical systems environments is highly valued.Demonstrated experience working directly with clients in a consulting, advisory, engineering, or project delivery environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAbility to work effectively with multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.Ability to operate effectively with limited day-to-day supervision and take ownership of client and project needsIntegrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellenceAt CIMA+, we value diversity of talent and perspective.
