We are seeking an Intermediate Land Development Designer within our Community Development team.Stantec has an active Community Development team that provides services to the land development industry in Ottawa and area. As the successful candidate, you possess a strong desire to create new high quality communities through participation in a motivated design team setting. You will report to a Project Manager, and have design responsibilities that include:Your Key Responsibilities - Preparing engineering drawings for land development and water resources projectsPreparing conceptual and final grading, site servicing and road design for residential, commercial and institutional land development projectsFormulating earthwork quantity analysis, and management processesPreparing presentation graphics and report figuresCoordinating project drawings with project managers, design staff and othersCoordinating designs with utility providersEnsuring that the projects' needs are met in a timely and effective mannerPreparing complete submission packages, supporting calculations, cost estimates, project schedules, and other dutiesPreparing / assisting with construction tender/contract documentsCoordinating design components with other disciplines,
and possible work with other officesCollecting field data to support engineering and water resources projectsProviding design ideas and solutions and perform quality control of construction documentsAssisting with construction site inspections and meetingsAssisting with resolution of technical issues on construction sitesYour Capabilities and Credentials - Self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to prioritize multiple tasks and work with teamsKnowledge of the local geographic area and area municipality design standards is an assetWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word & ExcelEducation and Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or graduate of a Civil Technology programRegistered or eligible for registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist or Professional EngineerMinimum of 3 years of experience within a land development consulting engineering environmentComprehensive working knowledge and experience with Civil 3D and AutocadExperience in preparing land development and municipal engineering drawings, including grading and servicing plans, storm and sanitary drainage plans, erosion control drawings, etc.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Pay RangeLocations in PEI -$67,000.00 - $97,100.00 AnnuallyPay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
