Manage your own technical work and evaluate its effectiveness to improve best practice. Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team. Undertake engineering and non-engineering activities in a way that contributes to best practice Act as Technical Lead (TL) on specified projects. Act as Technical Assurer on specified projects. Act as Project Manager (PM) on specified projects. Work within the BMT Quality Management System (QMS) processes and procedures. Maintain your technical competency in your area(s) of specialization. Promotes building a positive team culture through input, feedback and participation in team building and wellness activities. Role Specific Proven ability to lead and conduct submarine structural calculations for existing platforms and/or new builds.
Provide an expert opinion on design and fitness for service of submarine structures including: Submarine pressure hull, Submarine pressure hull structural features, and Primary and secondary submarine structures. Experien… Essential Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture; Minimum 15 years of experience in Naval Architecture; Extensiveexperience working on new build or re-fit of existing submarines. Existing registration or ability to obtain registration with Professional Engineering governance body in Province of work; and, Eligible for a Canadian and International security clearance. Hold a valid passport and able to travel internationally on a minimum of a 3-month deployment. Desirable: Detailed knowledge and experience in the following areas: Ship or submarine hydrostatics including stability, weight control and margins; and Ship or submarine inclining experiments (submerged and surfaced); Experience in the in-service support of naval systems and/or engineering design; Experience in the development and use of technical studies and drawings; An understanding of specifications for government and commercial vessels; and Experience in systems integration, ship construction and/or repair Why Work for Us?
